[00:00:00] Dan: Welcome back to another meeting of the Gold key Adventurers Society. My name is Dan Leonard and joining me this week in the studio is Heather Straight
[00:00:09] Heather: Hello.
[00:00:10] Dan: and Jeff Williams. Yeah, it absolutely is. Our show as always is brought to you by key to the world. Travel. Key to the World travel is a full service travel agency, specializing in theme parks, cruising and destinations around the world, head to www.keytotheworldtravel.com for more details and a no obligation quote on the vacation of a lifetime. Did you ever have one of those days where your brain just doesn't want to sit down and write something witty and creative. When you tell.
[00:00:39] Jeff: day we
[00:00:40] Dan: Yeah. Yeah, me too. Oh yeah. And all the rest of the days.
That's and that's the kind of day I'm having today. That's why we are headed straight into the travel news, starting with I'm over at Hollywood Studios. The Star Wars Launch Bay is reopening. Interestingly enough here's the interesting part, even though character meet and greets are back throughout the parks.
They are leaving the characters out of the launch bay
[00:01:07] Heather: don't understand if you're going to open the launch bay, why not put the characters there? It doesn't make
[00:01:15] Dan: It's. Yeah it's just a walkthrough museum. The launch bay theater is still close also, but it says most of the movie exhibits and display cases are available to view. So basically they needed some air conditioned space to
[00:01:29] Heather: was going to say, it sounds like an air conditioned break spot,
[00:01:33] Dan: Yeah. BB eight encounters close. You can see some cool models.
Yeah.
[00:01:41] Heather: you missing the opportunity to sell a lightsaber?
[00:01:44] Jeff: Why don't you put something else in there. entirely?
[00:01:48] Heather: Yes,
[00:01:50] Jeff: Oh, we already have star tours. That's separate from star wars town. Then on the other side, you got this like goodness with the star wars.
[00:01:59] Dan: Yeah. If they're going to get rid of one or the other, they need to get rid of the launch bay and take that space and make it.
[00:02:05] Heather: Yeah, or put all the character meet and greets back. People are going nutso for the character, meet and greets.
[00:02:12] Dan: Yeah.
[00:02:13] Jeff: Who knew so many people wanted to hug a furry?
[00:02:16] Heather: Yeah. You put baby eight back in there.
[00:02:20] Dan: no kidding. Where else are you gonna see BB eight
[00:02:22] Jeff: I put it on some restaurant in there.
[00:02:24] Heather: Oh yes.
[00:02:27] Dan: it would be also cool if they did what they used to do in the sound stages. Like the. But do a really good job of it. Like when they had the pirates movie preview and the,
[00:02:38] Heather: Oh yeah.
[00:02:39] Dan: while I, and the wishing the wardrobe, what if they rotated through every 18 months to a year or two years, like a really cool something like the launch bay, but for whatever the hot new thing
[00:02:53] Jeff: Star Wars.
[00:02:54] Heather: hear me out star wars VR. I know they have that right now at the NBA Experience, but put it in the park.
[00:03:04] Dan: Give it a permanent home
[00:03:05] Heather: Yeah, absolutely.
[00:03:06] Dan: VR
[00:03:07] Jeff: Or something for little ones. Cause you got Playhouse, Disney live on stage. You got beauty and the beast, whatever or whatever it is. Little my rage. Is it gone?
[00:03:16] Heather: No, it's still there.
[00:03:17] Jeff: Yeah.
So that's all like little kids central put something kid-friendly cool in there.
[00:03:23] Dan: and actually that'd be a really good idea cause they. under the radar, unless you've got children. The age of half of my children, the Disney junior universe is just like expanding and so huge. And there's so many cool shows on there right now. There's a rocket to your kids' show.
That's amazing.
[00:03:45] Jeff: Oh man. I love
[00:03:46] Dan: Oh yeah. It's about a little girl who discovers the rocketeers helmet and
[00:03:49] Jeff: Oh, of course. It's a girl woke Disney,
[00:03:54] Dan: Yes, she is
[00:03:55] Heather: with all of
[00:03:56] Jeff: the way, any lists.
[00:03:57] Dan: they've got some other very cool shows. Where's bluey. Then he blew in the parks.
[00:04:02] Heather: is bluey.
[00:04:04] Dan: Bluey is a show this actually made in Australia. That's really popular on Disney class.
[00:04:09] Heather: Is he a Dingo?
[00:04:11] Dan: no, there's a FA they're a family of blue healers
[00:04:15] Heather: Oh,
[00:04:18] Dan: and is the most wonderful. Children's television show
[00:04:21] Heather: oh, okay.
[00:04:23] Dan: total parent goals and it's really imaginative and good.
[00:04:25] Jeff: Is it better than Oswald?
[00:04:27] Heather: Bluey
[00:04:28] Dan: I don't know who else is.
[00:04:29] Heather: as well as was magnificent.
[00:04:31] Jeff: she go back and look for as well? Is it was at a Disney thing,
[00:04:35] Heather: he was an octopus and his dog was a
[00:04:39] Jeff: a Wiener dog who was a hot dog.
[00:04:41] Heather: Yeah,
[00:04:43] Jeff: His name was weenie.
[00:04:44] Heather: it was, magnificent. I loved that show.
[00:04:47] Jeff: it was so gentle and calm and sweet. I loved that show.
[00:04:51] Dan: After look for that. Speaking of gentle and calm and sweet this is a feature. Yeah, those are definitely characteristics. I think of when I think of Jeff Williams. No. This is a feature that was announced about a week ago for those magic band plus that we didn't really talk about. We talk about those common.
[00:05:10] Heather: put them out on the shelves, enforced Disney to talk about when they were going to come out.
[00:05:15] Dan: Yeah. And then they share some more information while y'all were down there, they had some magic band plus official stuff come out. Something tells me it's just something they had planned to share with you for the first time when you were there. But there's going to be a new, I guess you can say game experience at Galaxy's edge that uses the magic band plus.
And you can become a bounty hunter and it'll use the you can pick up missions. I know I saw something about there's a spot that's really poorly. Cause it's a construction wall, right by where Ray does.
[00:05:54] Jeff: For Ray and chewier up on that.
rail.
[00:05:56] Heather: looks like it's right across from the yeah. It's right across from
spot. Yep.
[00:06:02] Dan: and It looks like you pick up missions.
They're like when you pick up the maps for the pirate scavenger hunt thing in adventure land, and you do you go bounty hunting, using the haptic feedback on your on your magic band plus to help you find the bounty.
[00:06:20] Jeff: is it like buzzes when you're getting warmer kind of thing?
[00:06:23] Heather: I
[00:06:23] Dan: It's like that beacon that Mondo carries around it helps them find who he's tracking down,
[00:06:28] Heather: I wondered what those construction walls were.
[00:06:32] Dan: So you pick up your
[00:06:33] Heather: magic band plus
[00:06:34] Jeff: I didn't even notice though, was that there, when we were at the party the other night,
[00:06:38] Dan: Yeah. They're big black
[00:06:39] Jeff: I didn't make it much past, around to arrest.
[00:06:41] Heather: Also, we were there at night, so they weren't quite as
[00:06:44] Jeff: Yeah,
[00:06:45] Heather: cause it was dark. There was
[00:06:48] Jeff: Ty was mini bourbons in
[00:06:51] Dan: the surprising it's there's not.
[00:06:55] Jeff: no, whatever
[00:06:56] Heather: I wonder if they'll go to the magic band that you get on the starkers or if that will become a magic band plus instead of
[00:07:04] Dan: There was rumors that it was meant to be yes. I'm hoping that happens
[00:07:09] Jeff: wanted to do that at launch. And it was delayed.
[00:07:12] Heather: Yup.
[00:07:13] Dan: No, thanks
[00:07:14] Heather: They're all stuck on a ship somewhere in the middle of an ocean.
[00:07:17] Jeff: that one that caught on fire.
[00:07:19] Heather: Oh no.
[00:07:20] Dan: There's not a lot of details about this game yet, but it does say when the mission is complete, you can go back to the bounty hunter Guild, master and collect a reward of galactic credits, which can be viewed in your data pad on the Disney play Disney parks app. And there's no word on what that
[00:07:42] Heather: Can I use it to buy a rando wrap?
[00:07:45] Dan: That would be amazing. And do you remember when they first announced Galaxy's edge? They had said that there was going to be something like that where things credits could be earned in app that could be used to get rewards
[00:08:00] Jeff: real
[00:08:01] Heather: Yeah,
[00:08:02] Dan: yeah.
[00:08:03] Heather: it was one of the many
[00:08:04] Jeff: member, where they were going to have like whole ongoing shows. and stunt show and people getting shot off the tops of towers and things.
[00:08:14] Dan: Yeah. it was back in that stage of things. So we'll
[00:08:16] Heather: Maybe some of that will come back.
[00:08:19] Dan: Yeah, that'd be nice. That'd be really cool. So I'm looking forward to finding out what the game's about. Maybe it will be
[00:08:24] Jeff: Yeah.
I'm just looking forward to those magic band plus things. I think they're groovy. Anything that'll light up and buzz I'll take
Hi rose by any other name.
[00:08:35] Dan: I don't know if these, I don't know if these guys light up in buzz, but did you hear the sad news about Disney Kate tales?
[00:08:42] Heather: I did.
[00:08:44] Dan: It's not really sad, totally
[00:08:47] Jeff: They're just going to keep running it and crashing it, but they're not going to have a formal set time. It'll be like the cavalcades.
[00:08:54] Dan: Yeah. So beginning May 27th. Kite tales is going to switch to a walk by viewing experience. There's no scheduled performance times.
[00:09:02] Heather: Walk by viewing experience is what it always was for me.
[00:09:06] Jeff: I never laid eyes on that.
[00:09:07] Dan: And none of the theater based performers. So the people with the with the puppets on the ground those people are out of a job, but they're still going to have the kites pulled by the jet skis out in the lake. And they're just going to casually fly by whenever they feel
[00:09:22] Heather: I don't know who would want to sit in that amphitheater during the day boof there's no shade whatsoever. It was really designed to be a
[00:09:32] Jeff: It was designed for the nighttime show but then they made the nighttime show. So incredibly boring. No one wanted to sit there when it was tolerable.
[00:09:40] Heather: never worked. We tried, I tried to see it twice and both times it shut down and they would restart it and then it shut down again. And we were like,
[00:09:50] Jeff: the rivers of light
[00:09:51] Heather: Yeah. We're out. Never saw the whole show
[00:09:55] Jeff: did they call it rivers of anything? That's not.
[00:09:59] Heather: This is also true.
[00:10:02] Jeff: How about lake of mediocrity?
[00:10:08] Heather: That area seems to be cursed. They need to find something. Some kind of world of color style show,
[00:10:15] Jeff: can see it really well from the barbecue, a flame tree, barbecue patio, and then the amphitheater, because the rest of that you can't really just walk by it. You can't see into that thing from like how you can the lake at Epcot, you can just see right into it. They need to do, If they, I dunno. I dunno how you're going to walk back by that thing and see it.
[00:10:37] Dan: If there was something that people go sit down in the amphitheater for. Can I suggest that maybe we go the traditional Floridian route and also the SeaWorld route and maybe have some sort
of water ski stunt show.
[00:10:50] Heather: to say water ski show. Yeah.
[00:10:53] Dan: We can
[00:10:53] Jeff: they did
[00:10:54] Dan: up like a cats or something so
[00:10:57] Jeff: If they did the traditional, like pyramid of ladies on skis, but they were costumed Cinderella or whoever on, I would
[00:11:04] Dan: Maybe animals so that it
[00:11:06] Heather: Th the animal kingdom.
[00:11:08] Jeff: Whatever
[00:11:10] Dan: We can have water skiing, squirrels. I've always wanted to see a wider seeing squirrel in person. Yeah. They could, you know what, actually what the best show is. Have you ever been to SeaWorld and seen the the sea lion? And walrus so that they see more in Clyde.
That
[00:11:27] Jeff: I love that show
[00:11:28] Dan: was amazing. They need their very own Seymour in Clyde at Yeah I I would watch that. It mostly just, they also positioned that whole amphitheater to where you're just staring into the sun,
[00:11:41] Heather: Yes. It's not comfortable.
[00:11:43] Dan: also a problem.
[00:11:45] Heather: I don't know, find some way to make it cool. Watchable, nighttime spectacular that won't shut down all the time. Stop with the wifi controlled stuff. It doesn't work.
[00:11:59] Jeff: Yeah. As we all know, Disney's wifi sex.
[00:12:04] Dan: Yeah. And they're really good at making a missed screen and projecting something on it. They don't have to reinvent the wheel. Just make that show specifically for the theme of
[00:12:15] Jeff: Bunch of music, bunch of Danimals stuff, jungle book, all the animal after movies or animal based.
[00:12:22] Dan: For a second. It sounded like you said a bunch of Danimals stuff. There's this, turn it into a note where you slip it in a nickname
[00:12:29] Jeff: No, a bunch of Garanimals underwear, show
[00:12:37] Dan: for.
[00:12:38] Jeff: animals for.
the match sets real close. They were mine. I'd watch either.
[00:12:45] Dan: Anyway, that was that was a diversion and a half. Do you guys remember last week, Heather shared with us the story about all the weird crap that the TSA has been confiscating
[00:12:56] Heather: meth burrito.
[00:12:58] Dan: This story came across my news feed a couple of days after we recorded that it was this is a heck of a hall that they had.
So the headline. From the headline says, man, cut a TSA checkpoint with 23 weapons in his carry on.
So this is a
[00:13:16] Heather: over the fact that they just let these guys, the guy throw these out and they'd get on the plane. The thing. So traveler passing through security checkpoint at Reagan national airport in Virginia was cited for trying to bring 23 prohibited items, mostly knives in his carry
huge knives. Some switchblades.
[00:13:35] Dan: Yeah. They're large pocket knives.
[00:13:38] Heather: American head dress with a skull in it
[00:13:41] Dan: They found nine disposable scalpels, eight folding knives, three throwing
[00:13:48] Jeff: throwing knives, where I've concerned.
[00:13:50] Dan: a dagger, and a switchblade
[00:13:53] Heather: and some brass knuckles.
[00:13:56] Dan: Yeah.
[00:13:57] Heather: This guy was not on his way to do anything other than something nefarious.
[00:14:02] Jeff: argument is well, I'm
a collector, then who's that quick to, okay. I'll give these up and get on it.
[00:14:09] Heather: Exactly
[00:14:10] Dan: And who collects scalpels.
[00:14:12] Jeff: is being tracked right now by the And also I thought that Brett, I thought brass knuckles were on that list of things where it's if you're caught with that in a public place, you're getting
Terry illegal in a lot of places.
[00:14:26] Dan: Apparently they're not illegal in the airport because the police were called shortly and they just gave him a citation, but he was allowed to abandon his checked bag at the
[00:14:37] Jeff: This was a
[00:14:37] Dan: And then they, that they've rebooked him on the next flight and went on his Merry way. Also, they would have had no issue at all. If all 23 of these items have been packed in a checked bag.
[00:14:49] Jeff: That makes sense. He'll have to own those items. My son has this many knives. He just doesn't try to carry them onto.
[00:14:56] Heather: Yeah. Who at this point doesn't know that you can't bring knives in your carry on bag. Not one, much less 23. And what's he doing with nine disposable scalpels?
[00:15:09] Dan: Yeah. That's the one this week
[00:15:11] Heather: I'm sorry, alley secretary,
guy was about to go kill somebody.
[00:15:15] Dan: or he was going to go
[00:15:17] Jeff: whereas this gentleman's name Dexter.
[00:15:19] Heather: Save some lives with a switch plate with a skull painted on the handle. I don't think so.
[00:15:27] Dan: Yeah. I don't know that the scalpels I'm throwing now, so it's just, I don't get
[00:15:31] Heather: I call BS. This guy was up to no good. And I hope he's being tracked by the FBI now.
[00:15:38] Jeff: I really hope
[00:15:39] Dan: So the moral of the story is if you really need these items, wherever it is, you're going either pack them in your check bag, or you're probably the kind of person who knows where to find the nearest martial arts goods that weird store that has like giant swords
[00:15:53] Jeff: older mall has
[00:15:55] Dan: pewter dragon.
[00:15:56] Heather: Yes,
[00:15:57] Dan: And a bunch of these knives where to find that, go buy a Metro destination.
Don't bring them with you.
[00:16:02] Heather: this is RPSA
[00:16:04] Jeff: was called Mark's imports.
[00:16:07] Heather: Hey, we have one of those.
[00:16:08] Jeff: with glass eyeballs, to dashikis, to ninja throwing stars
[00:16:14] Heather: could you purchase some petrouli?
[00:16:16] Jeff: Oh, for sure. And also they had all this ninja supplies. They had those things that you put on that were like claws to for climbing
walls.
[00:16:24] Heather: What
[00:16:25] Jeff: That's
[00:16:25] Dan: grappling hook. Do
[00:16:26] Jeff: was my favorite. So it was like the favorite story of every 11 year old boy and pothead teenage.
[00:16:32] Heather: some portraits of tigers
[00:16:34] Jeff: And then like marble carved animals and snakes and tigers,
[00:16:40] Dan: Yeah.
A bunch of
[00:16:41] Jeff: Peter dragons for sure. I had some of this.
[00:16:44] Heather: What in the world?
[00:16:46] Dan: Sadly, I think that store closed at our
[00:16:49] Heather: Pewter dragons. I hate we had, it was there for a long time. Up, up to as recent as right before the pandemic, that store would pop up at Christmas time.
[00:17:01] Dan: multiple incarnations to somebody was always trying to get it started back up and we just
[00:17:07] Heather: Relive the glory days,
[00:17:09] Dan: clientele for the head shop
[00:17:10] Heather: but where now are you going to go buy a velvet painting of a tiger
[00:17:14] Jeff: But where am I getting my and your ninja
lace-up Neely knee-high boots with the fringe
[00:17:22] Heather: Yes. Gosh.
[00:17:24] Jeff: to wear to the rush.
[00:17:27] Dan: You have to get those. You have to get those in the mall at Christmas time. Right next to the table of the guy selling all of the Rastafarian
[00:17:35] Jeff: Yeah.
[00:17:36] Dan: That's
[00:17:36] Jeff: and the summer sausage place pops up Hickory
[00:17:40] Heather: Every year.
[00:17:42] Dan: who doesn't like a good Pepperidge farms gift sausage. Don't look a gift sausage.
[00:17:48] Jeff: I don't like my sausage in about.
[00:17:52] Dan: Anyway speaking of the TSA, one of my favorite things to talk about is security theater. It turns out that we might be looking at those limits on the. The quantity of liquid brought through your check luggage might be lifted
[00:18:08] Heather: man. I really hope so.
[00:18:10] Jeff: This has been since nine 11. That's crazy. It was, about a year after nine 11. They stopped. Or the shoe bomber was the guy that caused this right.
[00:18:21] Dan: yeah,
[00:18:22] Jeff: That was about a year
[00:18:23] Heather: he, it was about the same time, right? That you had to start taking your shoes off and not being able to bring
[00:18:28] Dan: It's been 16 years. So it's a few years after about 2006.
[00:18:32] Heather: But there's new technology. That's being tested in several airports around the world that it's basically a CT scanner for the airport. And that way you can bring on as many liquids as you want, no matter what the volume and they can tell whether or not it's been tainted with anything dangerous, which is fantastic.
So if you're right now if you're.
[00:18:56] Jeff: on the way
[00:18:59] Heather: Right now one of the places I know that's using it as Shannon airport in Ireland
[00:19:05] Jeff: the famous Shannon airport.
[00:19:07] Heather: yeah, and I think that I actually may have experienced this in Barcelona as well because they have bigger bins, Barcelona. You're welcome. They have a bigger bin that your whole carry on luggage fits in this larger bin and goes through this scanner.
And it's so much quicker because people aren't having to pull out their liquids and they don't have to pull everybody's stuff
[00:19:36] Jeff: my airport
[00:19:37] Heather: of water,
[00:19:38] Jeff: It does a it does like a cross section of things. So you don't have to unstack anything. So you just put all your bag, everything in there and it does it, cause this is it. It can look at each layer and then they can do all the it's pretty nifty technology.
I don't know if this is exactly the same as what we got. We just got all new stuff and I don't have to take anything out or separate anything.
[00:20:03] Heather: It says that of, they started rolling this bow out, back in 2019 at our 2018. I hadn't heard any of thing about it, but they're being used at London Heathrow, JFK in New York. and Amsterdam. So I'm really hoping that if it's going and it's easy enough to use, and it's not cheap, it looks like each of these scanners is several million dollars, but there are a couple of companies in the U S that are making them Smiths detection and light dose.
One of their competitors. And it says they got a $470 million contract last year to start rolling these out in airports, across the U S so fingers crossed. Maybe we could stop having to do that soon.
[00:20:54] Dan: Yeah. There's a lot of changes that could be made to fix this whole thing.
[00:20:58] Jeff: Yeah, the liquid thing is always just annoying.
[00:21:01] Dan: The liquid thing is stupid. And the fact that somebody has got to sit there and stare at the pictures and take so long with each bag that goes to the exit. You can't tell me that computers aren't smart enough now to do that job.
And couldn't scan multiple pictures at a time. Instead of having one human sitting there doing, or how about like just let's stop making people take off belts and shoes,
[00:21:24] Heather: Yes.
[00:21:25] Jeff: Yeah, because the underwire and Heather's bra is not the same as a gun.
[00:21:31] Heather: true. And it sets it off. Every time I go through the thing in Cancun, specifically, Cancun,
[00:21:39] Jeff: My belt sets it off only coming back into the U S to set.
[00:21:45] Heather: Yes.
[00:21:47] Jeff: like what the same belt I left
[00:21:49] Dan: more sense. They set the sensitivity higher because they think you're going to try to bring stuff in.
[00:21:54] Heather: There was a
[00:21:55] Dan: like I get.
[00:21:56] Heather: at Disney land where I have some, several pairs of shorts with a metal button and that my shorts were setting it off at Disneyland
[00:22:04] Jeff: she had to disrobe every time she wanted to
[00:22:08] Heather: Take my pants off right there in the middle of downtown Disney.
[00:22:11] Jeff: Yeah.
[00:22:12] Heather: Okay. That's
[00:22:13] Jeff: I can't find any reasons for us to go in and out. And if you'd like to follow her only fans channel.
[00:22:26] Dan: This is Jeff telling Heather that she has an only,
[00:22:29] Jeff: Oh yeah,
[00:22:30] Heather: Oh dear. I was not aware.
[00:22:34] Jeff: I've been keeping the money.
[00:22:37] Heather: Awesome.
[00:22:39] Jeff: I got weird.
[00:22:40] Dan: A couple of weeks ago we talked about how the galactic star cruiser is like a big, multiple day long. Mystery murderer dinner experience. And we've got the story from travel and leisure about the nappy Napa valley wine train is bringing back their popular murder mystery train rides.
[00:23:02] Heather: cool and I want to do it
[00:23:04] Dan: Yeah, they're going to
[00:23:05] Heather: role-playing murder, mystery dinner theater onto our adventures on a vintage train.
[00:23:12] Jeff: hours
[00:23:14] Heather: Yeah, one of them is one of them is Harry Potter themed that one's going to sell out.
[00:23:20] Jeff: But.
[00:23:23] Dan: Yeah.
[00:23:23] Heather: They have a bunch of different themes,
[00:23:26] Jeff: Till death do us part
[00:23:28] Dan: Yeah. They, it looks like they have,
[00:23:30] Heather: murder.
[00:23:31] Jeff: 10th of a gangster.
[00:23:32] Dan: One.
[00:23:33] Heather: I love the eighties to death on June 30th. That sounds awesome.
[00:23:39] Jeff: I'm going to eighties here to death.
[00:23:42] Heather: Hollywood glam, a dance with Jeff, a formal ball themed, midnight masquerade, and the magical wizards of wine country. Also titled I solemnly swear I am up to no good for Harry Potter fans.
[00:23:58] Jeff: I think
[00:23:58] Heather: This looks so cool.
[00:24:00] Jeff: midnight massacre aid.
[00:24:02] Heather: Oh, that's a good one. Yeah. Yeah. It is pretty spendy. It's $400 per person
[00:24:11] Dan: For a two hour ride
[00:24:15] Jeff: like
[00:24:15] Heather: and a multi-course dinner.
[00:24:17] Jeff: How would you have time to solve a mystery? Any of the seven course meal on a two hour train ride
[00:24:22] Heather: That's a good question.
[00:24:24] Jeff: Bess in jail?
[00:24:25] Heather: But I want to do it. It looks super fun. Yeah. Can there be a themed murder?
[00:24:36] Jeff: say that again.
[00:24:37] Dan: It seems like that's a little too on the nose.
[00:24:39] Heather: probably.
[00:24:40] Dan: I think it's a little played out also interesting. They are still following at this point, old fashioned de pandemic precautions. It says that that all actors are gonna wear clear masks, clear face shields and stay six feet away
[00:24:57] Heather: feet away from guests. Yeah.
[00:25:00] Dan: Yeah. Like, how do you, how can you stay six feet away from anybody on a train
[00:25:06] Heather: Is this true?
[00:25:08] Dan: They are not very large
[00:25:11] Heather: Can conveyances?
[00:25:12] Jeff: Convenience you use your mouse prettier than a $2 horror. Dan,
[00:25:18] Dan: So if didn't say that I'm still waiting for my chance to say visa VI this week, you were so tickled by it last
[00:25:27] Jeff: know you're really latched on there.
[00:25:32] Dan: There's a phrase I don't use often enough. So yeah, I that,
[00:25:37] Heather: It's plenty.
[00:25:39] Dan: okay. Their train ride looks like it's a lot of.
[00:25:42] Heather: It's fun. I'd let Scott, I'm going to plan a trip to Napa.
[00:25:44] Jeff: I love wines.
[00:25:49] Dan: So I sent essential a link to a video, a
[00:25:54] Heather: Yes. It's a diner that I think I need to visit,
[00:25:58] Dan: Yeah, I have. Have you ever been to Dick's last resort?
[00:26:02] Heather: Yes.
[00:26:03] Jeff: Never heard of it.
[00:26:04] Dan: I've never been there. There's also a place called ed
[00:26:07] Jeff: it one of those where they routine.
[00:26:10] Heather: Yes.
[00:26:11] Dan: rude to you, but this place is called Karen's diner and it takes it to a whole new level.
[00:26:17] Heather: They are cussing at you and it looks so fun.
[00:26:21] Dan: Yeah, it started actually in Australia with locations in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. And it now has a couple of locations in the UK also, and they are, yeah. I don't know, and the food looks delicious from I'll. We'll have a video in the, in, in the show notes you can watch and it will be fully censored and work friendly.
It is SFW A
[00:26:52] Heather: You have
[00:26:53] Dan: the food looks delicious.
[00:26:55] Heather: it's not, it's
[00:26:57] Dan: They tell you, pardon? My French. The number of times I heard one waitress tell one group of people to <Donald Duck quack> off was incredible. It's more than I say the phrase in an entire day at work. And I say it a lot at
[00:27:12] Heather: It's possible that Samuel L. Jackson works there because
[00:27:16] Jeff: this idea.
[00:27:17] Heather: yeah.
[00:27:17] Jeff: dad used to go to a place in LA that was famous for being rude to you like that. I don't remember what that was. Was that ed? What is is that
[00:27:28] Heather: same
[00:27:28] Dan: It's one of
[00:27:29] Heather: That there's one in Chicago that I've
[00:27:31] Jeff: is that's a hot dog place.
[00:27:33] Heather: I don't remember it being
[00:27:35] Jeff: D. There was one, there was like a hot dog cart, a small stand there. Everybody was terrible to you. That Conan O'Brien did one time when he
[00:27:42] Heather: Oh no. Ed is a sit down diner style.
[00:27:48] Jeff: I love this
[00:27:48] Dan: So some of the names of the drinks on the menu include the music is too loud. I've been waiting 10 minutes for some service, and you've just lost my business.
[00:27:59] Jeff: get it. It's a whole Karen thing.
[00:28:01] Heather: Yes
[00:28:02] Dan: If your name is Karen and you bring ideas, proof, they will give you free food. But they ask that you don't, that you don't ask to speak to the manager. Their website says the website says our staff are rude. Our manners are non-existent and we're the perfect place for Karen's everywhere to vent their anger and dismay at the world.
And it's be rude back to them and cuss back at.
Yeah, it looks like they would welcome that. They say it's an interactive experience. The wait staff are all very surly.
[00:28:33] Heather: French. If yes.
I like to use the F word a lot.
Sure.
[00:28:42] Dan: Anyway, they still don't know because Donald duck just quacked at them. So yeah. Check that out, check out that video. It is, it's very entertaining. I really enjoy when the when she, the waitress turns to look at the Pod, not podcast the video producer for the show. And she just says right in the camera, why don't you get a real <Donald Duck quack>ing job? And the prisoner I think goes on to ask for their order of food,
[00:29:09] Heather: That's amazing. I need to visit this place.
[00:29:12] Dan: take the trip to the UK or
[00:29:13] Heather: I would love to. Is there one in London?
[00:29:15] Dan: Sheffield. And there's another one. There's two in London, Gillingham. And Sheffield the very well-known,
[00:29:26] Heather: Of course,
[00:29:27] Jeff: going to open one here in the states.
[00:29:30] Heather: a great idea.
[00:29:33] Dan: I can't see why it wouldn't be popular.
[00:29:35] Jeff: It's going to be just full of the worst people you can imagine. I'm going to call it <redacted>.
